I post on Dave's for the following reasons:

1) I lead a very empty life.

2) I cannot enjoy human interaction in person because I feel self-conscious, tense and uptight.

3) I like banter but I seem to only engage in light-hearted conversation online nowadays.

4) I like to talk nonsense (to inject some humour into threads) and this forum gives me the opportunity to share that with others.

5) Sometimes I find life to be so very tedious and predictable, this forum provides some light relief for myself.

6) It can be genuinely interesting to hear what other people have to say.

7) I secretly hope I will hit it off with a beautiful, kind-hearted woman that is dieing to love me forever. She will be more absurd than a cartoon character.

Lastly, I can learn about trivial and serious matters from other posters.

I come here to get a glimpse into the mind of every fat, dead-eyed, sweaty ESL teacher who has only a passing familiarity with the language he teaches.

You know, the ones who came here to escape shallow, mean western women who weren't impressed by their level 80 paladin, beer gut, and BA in theater. Then they wonder why they have to shower their Korean girl in money to keep her around.

I like the smugness and arrogance displayed in posts like the above one.

So everyone who posts here are losers who couldn't make it back home? Interesting.

Because while waygook.org might have slightly nicer users, the site design is even uglier than this one. Honestly I just wish people would use TEFL Outpost more.

Before they took away our picture posting privileges, posting here was so much more fun, (and funnier) - before Danthechainsawman spammed the board with scat porn.

That was what, three four years ago? Back in in the early 2000's when I'd read a thread w/pics and sometimes I'd laugh and chuckle to myself for the rest of the day thinking about it. Things changed a lot after his last attack on the board.

*sigh* If I weren't married, I'd probably be spamming fromtheuk pics of myself in a Zorro mask

Anyhow, I post on Dave's because I have nothing better to do and I like attention. Also, the meanness on the threads makes me feel like a decent person in comparison (at times as other times I can be a true C U Next Tuesday).

that's called Western female bitterness. Very prevalent and super potent outside of the West (and often inside it). Ask any non teacher professional single male expat in places like Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Moscow, Rio, Mexico City, etc about it. Pick a foreign city. ANY city, and they'll clue you in.

the post overall would be very amusing and I'd guffaw with agreement if it weren't for the clear indicator that it's just some bitter unwanted probably overweight Western female talking:

who around here has any significant money to "shower their Korean girl" with?

Rolling Eyes

put away the ice cream, get in the gym, lose the bitterness and attitude, and who knows? your "joy" may turn into something more colorful than gray.

Very Happy

(though I'd say stick with the local males as non teacher expats (even some teachers) will have companionship options you probably can't compete with)

hahah. I said I've yet to see a hot western girl in Korea, and got flamed by hordes of people and was told there are loads of hot western women here.

Really? Where are they? Is there some magical district in Seoul where these dimes hang out at?

Hell no. Most foreign women in Korea are fat as hell.

Went out with my girlfriend this weekend. Hourlong subway trip, saw 3 fatties, and 1 girl who was thin that had the face of that witch from the animated version of snow white and the 7 dwarves. still wondering where these blonde hotties hang out at. ROFL

Enjoy furrowing in the corner fellas, we folks who don't stereotype and judge people for no goddamn reason appreciate the extra leg room.
