I'm not doing a visa run, but I'm going to get a stamp on my passport (I'm currently in Korea without a visa). Lived in Japan for a year as a baby, visited very often but it's my first time in Fukuoka. I actually haven't planned shit. Anyone else going? I'm just gonna half-ass wing it really, staying for a day.

I just reserved my ticket for tomorrow morning and my return on Friday. Their doing this special if you reserve 5 days in advance it costs 69000 Won. I talked to the lady and asked her to give me the deal too even though I'm leaving tomorrow. Anyway, I bought round trip tickets for 69 thousand won!

Hello, I a Canadian ESL teacher in Korea on a tourist visa. I have
just been signed on a Hagwon and my employer has just gone to Daegue
to deliver my documents and confirmation number to the Korean
Education Board on (Sept 5, 2011) so that I can get my E2 working
visa. Just wondering a few things;

1) What documents do I need to bring with me to Japan? (photo, confirmation number, transcript?)

2) When I leave form Busan to Japan what is the quickest ferry I
should take? Can I show up and buy a ticket or is reserving tickets
required?

3) Once arrived in Japan how long does it take for the Korean
consultant to process my E2 visa, what time during the day do they stop accepting visa applications?

Thank you for your assistance

To answer one of the previous questions: It takes a day to process visa documents.

A word of warning for all fellow Brit's. They have increased the cost of a Visa Application from around Y5000 to Y12000 (around 100) which you need in cash. But its around half the price of other nationals, why? They couldn't tell me.

Hi

Need to do a C4 visa run ASAP - does anyone know the deadline for getting your documents in.

A lot of flights arrive at 10.20 am, would that be pushing it ?

cheers

Just had a C-4 visa turned down, so beware. The rules got much tighter as of July 6th.

Just a heads-up:

Going on a visa run to Fukuoka today by ferry from busan.

My coteacher rang the consulate and there were some surprises.

Apparently (and I got him to ring back twice to confirrm) as of April 2012

- no visa applications will be accepted after 11am full stop.

- if the application is dropped off before 11am, the visa will be ready at 1.30pm THE NEXT DAY. No more same day service. No more drop off in afternoon, pick up next day.

- This means that taking the ferry requires two nights in Japan, as the earliest ferry will miss the 11am cutoff.

- The price was quoted as 9600 Yen (I am Australian)

I can;t guarantee that the above is true, but my coteacher spoke to "the lady in charge of issuing visas" at the Fukuoka consulate a total of 3 times, because I thought there might be some communication error.

I'll double check when I get there tomorrow.

Can anyone confirm that if one does not get to the consulate by 11:30am, next day service is not available?

I'll be getting into Fukuoka this Monday at 9:15am. Going to try and get there by 10:30...

Any updated info?!
