| I'd hate to see one of the preeminent Korean "podcasts" dead in the water, but it's rarely updated anymore....just wondering if anyone knew what was going on... |

| There have been some updates but I haven't been able to listen to it for months because it causes my laptop to freeze everytime I press play, something about a script that the website tries to run on my computer?? |

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I'll give you the lowdown on why we haven't been podcasting lately--time. We all have been working schedules that conflict with each other. On top of that, since having the baby, it's been difficult to find time and space to podcast in our tiny apartment. Since we don't really make money on the show, it's getting harder and harder to justify it to my wife.
But I wouldn't say we're dead. Just pining for the fjords. I'll move into my new office in Yeouido next week, and I'll be closer to Stafford, so expect us to get back on track.
Sorry about the script causing errors. I'll look into that. Thinking of doing a whole makeover of the website. |

| I think The Midnight Runner podcast is also down because of the site operator's family situation. |

| We keep in touch. He's a busy guy too. I think when you start projects like these you get a good running start, but keeping up with it--the stamina--is the challenge. In our case, we have been trying to find ways to make it easier to produce each show. I've pretty much cut out the overproduced openings, which was the main cause of episode delays. I still have to record some type of opening. Now the editing, assembling, and just finding a time when all of us are free that are the main obstacles. I love doing the show, as it's a positive outlet to blow off steam. I feel better after each one. |

Loved me some of the ol 3+ hour mega episodes, where everyone got trashed and shot the bull, talked politics and life in Korea, etc. Great job of lining up interesting guests, too. I'd love to see a "dream team" episode with Hurt, Koehler, Midnight Runner, and the hosts all getting lit up. Lumsden and Young do a good job on their own, but it's always best with the whole gang + guest(s). Always look forward to the latest ep - I really need to chip in some chunners as a token of my appreciation.
Some recommendations for future guests: Lankov, Ramsted, the broad from Let's Speak Korean, JJ from itaewon (joking on the last one...sort of). The guy from the former Korea Rum Diary would be great too, and Rowan Hall. |

Oooh, good suggestions!
I wanna do more of those long lets-get-trashed episodes. We're long overdue for another Ajosshi Breakfast (tm).
I'm sort of acquainted with Lisa (Let's Speak Korean). Would be a coup to get her on the show. I know more folks from the broadcasting side now, too. Others I'd like to get on the show: Tom Coyner, Andrew Salmon, Michael Breen, Eric Rhee (producer of Kimchi Chronicles), Sara Lee of Seoul in the City, Isaac Durst (talked to him, but not sure if he'd be game), Sean Watts, the Vatos guys, Maureen O'Crowley. And I just want a lot of our former panelists back, too. Having The Marmot and The Metropolitician on the same line always creates entertainment. |

| Is this the one where the main dude got married to a Korean and suddenly stopped caring about foreigner issues? Or was that someone else? |

TLDR; it's his wife's fault. |

I also look forward to every episode and listen to each one several times (while driving, bus, working out, etc.)
Jen, Joe, and Stafford are highly entertaining and bring an intriguing and balanced view to Korea.
Keep on doing what you are doing.
PS - Karl rocks my socks. Bring him on again! |

Very happy to see this back on a regular schedule. The show has developed a reputation such that it may be able to reel in some of the "heavy hitters" in Korealand as guests. Adding to what has already been suggested, I'd like to throw Cullen Thomas in the ring as a prospie guest, and perhaps some expat bar owners. And, though I've said it once I will say it again, I'd love to hear The Met and The Marmot duke it out over the issues of the day (over a few bottles of makkoli, of course). Speaking of the Marmot, having one or two of the commenters on could also make for interesting discussion.
Looking forward to another great year of the podcast; could be a key year in the show's development. As a fan from the Mamer days, it is really cool to see the show develop. |

| It has been a while since a new episode - anyone know if this thing is gone for good? Someone said on another thread that one of the cast members got kicked out of Korea, hence the lack of new shows. Any truth to that? |

| No one's gotten kicked out of Korea. We just haven't been able to sync our schedules for a show. We all have been extremely busy this year. |

So you just want to hear the "same old" from the "same old" people? They don't have a clue about anything new that's happened since 2005. Just with teaching issues and immigration issues there are so many things that have changed over the past year. You can also see Itaewon changing- how about getting some guests from the muslim community? Things have also changed for the US military members based in Korea. Maybe it's time for some newer voices who are in touch with reality for most of us in 2012. You can either keep on talking to your drinking buddies and link sharers or you can be relevant and reach out to those on the cutting edge who know what's really going on. |

Some good suggestions here. Any specific individuals in mind as to people who know what is going on, or was that just a general critique? I thinks people like the Wall Street Journal guy and Lankov would still be interesting and fall under your criteria. |
