It's been about a year and a half since I left Korea and am now back in Canuck-land. I was never one for the local Korean food, but man oh man, how I loved to make the weekly trek to Chef Meili's and stock up on goods.

As of late I've been scouring my area to find something to match his salami (the spicy was fantastic), but haven't come close one bit - everything I've tried tastes rubbery and lacks flavour. I know he's Austrian, but does anyone know the variety that Meili sells so I'll at least know where to start?

On that note, are there any Torontonians that can recommend an awesome deli in the city that make their own stuff?

I think it might be Hungarian. I used to get similar stuff from a Hungarian deli in Montreal.

Are you talking about the deli across the street from Taco Bell in Itaewon? Is that the only location?

There must be a good Polish sausage place somewhere. That should be good. Italian joints should be good, too. Some of the best Kielbasa I had was from Bulgaria. It was spicy and tasty.

Some Itaewon regular should look for it. Do you remember anything about it that can help? Is it the only one he sells?
