Hi, I will be visiting Seoul next weekend and I was wondering if anyone knows of a nice, cheap (20,000 - 40,000 won) place to stay that is in a central location.

Thanks!

what you're looking for is a good min-bak or yeogwon (small hotel). there are quite a few in the jong-no/insa-dong area, which is just north of central seoul. just walk around and look for the sign 여관 ,민박

hate to plug a place but...seoul hotel has a big sign and is above MacDonalds in Itaewan---that is if you want to be in the foreigner/tourist area....it is central though and at 40 000 is clean with cable and a fridge in the room...directions get off Itaewan ask somebody...

I stayed in Seoul for 5 days and simply stayed in jimjabongs the entire time. Of course, you're not going to get the privacy of a hotel but you'll be paying considerably less. Most ran me about 10,000 won. Maybe this isn't the option you'd like but it's definitely worth considering. They're all over the city.

Seoul is a massive city, and there are many different kinds of accomodations.

It would be better if you could post specifics on what you are looking for, what is most important to you, and what you are willing to sacrifice on.

Generally, the main areas are:
Hongdae
Shinchon
Itaewon
Jongno
Gangnam
Gundae
Yongsan

Cheers.
