I have a 4 day stop over in Abu Dhabi and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on where to stay and what to do. I want to stay in a very central area so that I can walk around places, and preferably not too expensive (under $50 would be perfect!).

I can't find a UAE Lonely Planet anywhere, so any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

You'll have to check availability for when you're going, but Airbnb has some nice looking places: http://www.airbnb.com/search?location=Abu+Dhabi+-+United+Arab+Emirates.

Also, Lonely Planet has a lot of stuff on it's website, free of charge, including hotels: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/united-arab-emirates/abu-dhabi.

If you're on a layover, your airline probably has free shuttles to Dubai. Unless you've already been there, I'd suggest going there instead of 4 days in Abu Dhabi.

Thanks for the reply. Why would you go to Dubai instead?

Dubai is really, really awesome. It was one of my favorite cities I've ever visited. Crazy cool architecture, amazing shopping, and just a really neat vibe. Granted, I haven't visited Abu Dhabi so it may be cool as well, but I think if you only have time for 1, definitely do Dubai. It's only an hour and a half bus ride from AD to Dubai, so in theory you could possibly do both.

My friends from UAE and Saudi ubiquitously say that Dubai is the cooler place to visit.
