Not meaning to hijack the thread, but in a similar vein, anyone been to Carabao island, just north of Boracay? Heard it's about 2,500 pesos and an hour by banka with a few beachside bungalows. Not much info online (other than a hotel site), but looks amazing. Info?

The beaches in Palawan can be nicer than Boracay's but the former seem too raw. I was in Ko Lanta, Thailand, in April and while it was relaxing, it was too boring. I hit Honda Bay and Pandan Island near Puerto Princesa but I haven't felt the need to return.

In Boracay, you can party or relax. Parts of Station 3 have very quiet and tranquil areas.

And despite my many travels to the Phils, I still cannot eat Philippine food, which is NOT the reason to go there.
