College football is about to start and I have access to ESPN3, and all those channels since my mom has verizon fios back home.
However, it is unavailable to Korea without a workaround.
Last year I used hotspotshield, but I really didn't like it. It was faulty and just felt like I was infecting my computer.
Does anyone have any good recommendations about a good workaround?
I've never purchased a VPN and not too familiar with how it all works.
Any help would be appreciated. |

I have StrongVPN ($60 a year) and it works really well. You get a lot of info on how to set it up, then you just plug in the info and follow directions and it works. You have to turn it on every time you want to use it, but basically it routes all data through another connection located in the US. You're also much safer on a VPN, so it has a use beyond just damning location-blocking. |

Thanks for the response. I'll definitely check it out.
Does it have pop-ups and weird stuff like hotspotshield or do you just turn it on and you never would even know you're running a program?
How does it affect your speeds?
Thanks! |

I also use StrongVPN and can say it's definitely worth it. I use it to access my favorite websites that aren't available here (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). My ISP also seems to throttle bandwidth from youtube, so the VPN allows me to bypass it.
Speed is fast, I can stream HD content with no problem. On some websites, my speed actually improves! Probably because of server locations and whatnot.
You won't notice it's there since you don't need to install any software. I've never used hotspotshield, but I'm assuming you had to install 3rd party software. StrongVPN uses software that's built into Windows, so you won't notice anything. |
