Above is a link to the BBC news Website that details a new planned agreement between the UK and Canada to open joint embassies in countries where neither country has a strong presence. It could even one day include Australia and New Zealand.

Its good to see that the maintenance of the monarchy can deliver real world benefits beyond its historical and ceremonial function.

Opening joint embassies...interesting idea.
Pot smoking certainly has become less demonized than in the past...but this seems wickedly progressive.
It would definitely generate a strong presence... and no doubt generate a tidy profit, too.

The Scandinavian countries often share operations and run joint embassies. Makes a lot of sense.

However in the case of the UK and Canada, I can imagine it being an absolute nightmare for people trying to get visas - these are two of the strictest and most anal countries with regards to issuing visas (and they don't have the same rules as eachother, unlike the Scandinavian countries)
