She's just nasty. I mean, she was before, but now she's over-the-top nasty. |

I'm not a fan of fat acceptance.
The USA has gone that route and it doesn't work. The WSJ did an article called "weights on the rise as fat seen as normal". They were spot on. What happens is that as the norm increases people think "well I'm not THAT fat, Lisa is fatter, so by comparison I'm slim, it's all relative". And so you get people Hostess snowballing out of control.
You can observe this with any two female friends. As one gains weight the other will too, the hot one says, well I still look hot compared to my super fat friend. It is a lowering of the bar. Fortunately the bar is still set high in KR and so you have predominantly healthy people.
Nature defines what a healthy body shape is, not human society.
Observation; "fat acceptance" does not work. |

Holy bulgogi, 45.6lbs heavier on avg!?!
But see if you are a chick and you hit 130lb you are FAT here. So you never get up to 140lb, because that is like insane fat. Fat non-acceptance (social pressure) keeps people healthy. |

I remember reading an article based on some research that being fat was actually contagious, in the sense that those with friends who gain weight were more likely to do the same. |

I'm sure they'll have a lot of "fat pride" (guys and ladies) as they die from adult onset diabetes, heart disease, hypertension etc. 10-20 years before they should
biggest drain on the american health care system is from obesity, not the baby boomers retiring etc. a totally preventable situation.
its not about judging people its about looking at mortality rates and health care expenditures. lose 10-20 kilos and excercise 3x and you will live a long healthy life
i'm sick of hearing about "fat pride" when they are eating 15 big macs and 20 big gulps a week spending 30 hours/week playing video games etc |

Just to add some perspective to those "average weight" statistics, if I weighed what an average Korean woman does, I would be below my healthy recommended minimum. Koreans in general are a lot shorter than I am too. |
