|
|
I am planning on going to Seoul soon and need to nail down the best option or two for what I am looking for.
Looking for the best club playing hiphop and American Top 40. By best I mean a number of factors.
1) Ratio of women to men
2) Size / Crowd
3) Westernized females
4) Lighting (do not like overly dark clubs)
5) Drink Prices
What will be my best bet? |

Thnx.
Phantom looks pretty nice.
If anyone knows any other good spots in Hongdae, Itaewon, or Gangnam please share! The more options the better! |

Anywhere more like Bar Sensation in Hongdae?
More of a lounge, though it had a dancefloor that could get busy at times, played a good mix of quality mainstream/underground/old-school songs...not much 50 Cent or Black Eyed Peas to be found there.
It closed a few years ago, and I've been hoping to find the place that picked up the slack.
My friends and I used to go there often, and I'm convinced it closing had to do with me moving out of the area, lol.
Phantom in Sinsa sounds somewhat promising, so I may try to check that out some time, but it's still a club, and that's not really what I'm into. |

if you're looking for some place like sensations then you should check out venue in itaewon. it's run by the dude that used spin at sensations most of the time...there's a new spot in itae called cake shop that plays most hip-hop and house. it's on the corner of itae near noksapyeong station, below sujis. |

There are really only two clubs in Itaewon. Mute, which is behind the Hamilton Hotel, and Able, which used to be Volume, at the Crown Hotel way down the road. There are several "lounge clubs" that are decent. Luv, B One, and Globe are all on the same back street as Mute. Bounce around there and you can find a place that suits you.
For Gangnam (assuming you mean the area directly by the station) I would say that Mass is pretty solid. I'm not down there much but NB and Harlem were good spots for hip hop back in the day.
For Hongdae, I'd say M2, Cocoon, and Naked are okay. Again, there are tons of smaller "lounge clubs" but those three are the only ones that qualify as "clubs."
Happy hunting... |
