I wonder how long it will be before we find out someone has been importing Churros from China which are made with paper.
Without the cinammon and sugar, the things almost taste like that! |

Churros have been around since like, 2009 since I've been here and I'm sure even earlier. Korean Uni students I met back in the states knew what they were. |

They've been around but now are hitting their stride as a popular food item. There are coffee chains and restaurants that serve churros, and some are filled with chocolate or cream. |

Nah, not from what I've seen. They were all over for the past 10 years - any amusement park / big park / street festival type thing - saw them everywhere.
My wife loves 'em, so we've been buying them for years whenever we go out. |

OP, may I ask how long you've been in Korea? I see your join date, but that's not always a good indicator. |

I never said that churros were new to Korea, only that many restaurants and shops are now either adding churros to their menus or featuring them as the main menu item.
Some of you need to get out more often. Get some fresh air and take a look around the real world, for a change. You would notice the addition of churros to many stores and shops.
Maybe you need some churros. |

He has a point. Churros have been around, but I never saw stores specializing in churros like I saw in Hongdae last night before. I'm seeing a lot more kids munching on churros on the street too. You only used to see them in amusement parks and the like. |

I was pretty surprised last Saturday when I saw a shop that specialized in coffee and...churros. I was thinking how did this crap escape Everland?
Makes sense now...sort of. |

This. Spain may be going to hell, but their food is still crazy good. Was in Madrid last December visiting my GF and pretty much every coffee shop has them. God, they're delicious. |

Yeah, I'd only ever seen them on the boardwalk at Wolmido or at amusement parks before. I've been seeing them pop up in more and more places. They're yummy, but too unhealthy to eat more than once in a while. |
