yep Germany sold Saddam chemical weapons, missle technology.
But I love the way the victims become the bad guys in some posts. Right out off Hitlers playbook.
Now we all know from reading Pilger that Saddam shared all food , medicines fairly and equally. We also know that there was no long standing feud over the Shatt-al-arab waterway. that the sole cause of all human suffering is the U.S.
My suggestion to many posters study history, improve your reading skills. |
I have a degree in history. Saddam was initially supported by the West, until he invaded Kuwait. Then the murderous sanctions regime was put in place, and the Iraqi people suffered for it. |

Continued hostility
In 1979, al-Bakr attempted to demote the Vice President, Saddam Hussein, to a position of relative obscurity. Saddam responded with a counter-coup, forcing al-Bakr to resign, conducting a ruthless purge of hundreds of Ba'athists and naming himself President. Al-Bakr died under mysterious circumstances in 1982.
Even though Iraqi interest in American technical expertise was strong, prior to 1980 the government did not seem to be seriously interested in re-establishing diplomatic relations with the United States. The Ba'ath Party viewed the efforts by the United States to achieve "step-by-step" interim agreements between Israel and the Arab countries and the diplomatic process that led to the Camp David Accords as calculated attempts to perpetuate Arab disunity. Consequently, Iraq took a leading role in organizing Arab opposition to the diplomatic initiatives of the United States. After Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979, Iraq succeeded in getting members of the League of Arab States (Arab League) to vote unanimously for Egypt's expulsion from the organization.
From 1967 to 1984, there were no diplomatic relations between Iraq and the U.S. whatever.[9] However, a U.S. Interests Section was established in the Belgian Embassy in Baghdad on October 1, 1972.

The IranIraq War, also known as the First Persian Gulf War, was an armed conflict between Iran and Ba'athist Iraq lasting from September 1980 to August 1988, making it the longest conventional war of the 20th century after the Sino-Japanese War.[11][12][note 1] It was initially referred to in English as the "Persian Gulf War" prior to the Persian Gulf War of the early 1990s.[13]
The IranIraq War began when Iraq invaded Iran via simultaneous invasions by air and land on 22 September 1980. It followed a long history of border disputes, and was motivated by fears of Shia Islam insurgency among Iraq's long-suppressed Shia majority influenced by the Iranian Revolution in 1979, as well as Iraq's desire to replace Iran as the dominant Persian Gulf state. Although Iraq hoped to take advantage of the revolutionary chaos in Iran and attacked without formal warning, they made only limited progress into Iran and were quickly repelled; Iran regained virtually all lost territory by June 1982. For the next six years, Iran was on the offensive.[14] |

french support for Iraq during the IranIraq war
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
French support for Iraq during the IranIraq war was an important element to strengthen Iraq for the Iran-Iraq war. Starting in roughly 1975,[1] leading up to the Iran-Iraq War, as well as the war itself, the greatest amount of military equipment came to Iraq from the Soviet Union, but France was probably second, and generally provided higher-technology equipment than the Soviets.[2]

Yes, the US did not (siginficantly) arm Iraq. It did provide intelligence to Iraq during the war (primarily satellite imagery of Iranian forces). |

So lets see what i have learned on Daves today. The Bosnians deserved to be shot and thrown in mass graves and that was Clinton and Albrights fault anyway. The Bosnians were the bad guys. Because a Bosnian committed a crime all Bosnians are bad.
No one ever died in IRAq UNLESS IT WAS AT THE HANDS OF aLBRIGHT.

If by chance someone doesn't like what Wikipedia article says then they are most certainly welcome to show that the information posted is inaccurate.
A failure to answer here can be taken as an admission that one can not in fact refute what has been posted. |

Anyway I hope and pray that your irrelevant quips bring you some degree of comfort in view of your complete failure to make your case on your own thread. |

Serbia has traditionally been the bulwark of Europe, guarding the gates of the continent from muslim invasion.
They have also been longstanding western allies.
Clinton was an idiot to bomb them. |

Western allies? No, they've been Russia's ally, that's about it. |
