I thought it would be a bit bigger, but yes, I did expect an Obama win.

I thought it would be a lot closer. This is a very strong defeat for Romney. The rich, wealthy and the upper middle class lose.

Was Obama winning such a big mystery? Was it that hard to tell? No, the lazy person will listen to the news shows and hear them talk about national polls and such and take their bait to keep you glued to the TV or their online sites.

The polls such as RealClear and others clearly showed that Romney would not win. There were just too many things that had to happen for him to win. The planets would have allign perfectly. Barring any extraneous event of magnitude it was a no brainer.

The ONLY question was how much Obama would win by. The media talked about national polls being a tight race KNOWING it means absolutely NOTHING.

Its the polls in the swing states that matter and those polls gave Obama an edge in most of them.

NATE SILVER IS A GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good but no genius. Anyone can call the 40 or so states give or take a couple that were already decided. About a dozen or so were undecided but of those most of their polls told you who would win. A person doing a modicum of research could pick 44 t0 46 out of 50.

Nate Silver is not a genius, he was just honest. While other journalists/pundits/entertainers (is there a clear division at this point?) were busy trying to craft a narrative (be it a strictly partisan one or a "look at me, I'm so unbiased, everything ever is a near tie" one) and make the data fit it, he granted primacy to the data available.
