Yeah another foreigner / expat festival. Will they be setting up a huge screen so we can watch our beloved Korean dramas? |

Does it bother anyone else that this is for "foreigners only"? |

Their facebook page says they'll ask you for ID and if you're Korean then no beer or hotdogs for you.
Funny how an organization that calls itself "Community Korea" excludes Koreans. |

Really? What kind of bizarre event is this? Who's operating the event... foreigners only? So you can't even go with your Korean wife or girlfriend? That's weird though... are they planning something, trying to get all of us together like that? |

We all know how rules are enforced in this country. They're not. Remember when the bank beneath Gecko's went 'foreigner only'. That lasted about five hours. The sign is still up, but...
If (as already noted) they do try to enforce it at this festival they'll have to turn away a lot of mixed couples. Maybe that's their plan. Are they trying to further stigmatize inter-racial dating by turning away any Korean who tries to enter with a foreigner?
I wouldn't be surprised one little bit. |

Wow, the world revolves around America! Soccer is the most popular sport in the world (fishing actually, if you count active participants) but because Americans don't like it, it isn't worth bothering about?
That's right up there with the "World Series" of baseball in the US compromised of teams from all over the....
United States.

Why don't you call someone on the contact list and get some information before throwing a tantrum. Good to know you care about important things like Korean soccer. |

Pro - just 12,000 won
Con - it excludes expats with Korean spouses??? (from discounts NOT the event itself)
If there is an event for Expats then do it right or don't do it at all!

Where does it say it excludes expats with Korean spouses? My guess is that they cannot take advantage of the special discount and will have to buy a ticket to the game at the box office, and have to buy beer and hot dogs at the GS25 like everyone else.
This sounds like the local Seoul sports team reaching out to the expat community and it is being trashed by some without even understanding what the event is.

Yeah, simple logic would assume that the foreigner only idea is related to the special tickets only and the resulting free food and drink, rather than shutting Koreans out of the game, seeing as 99% of the supporters for these teams are Korean. Hell, go look at the Facebook photos of last years event and you'll see a tonne of Koreans present.
But we all know that Dave's is the place where logic goes to die. |
