I will have worked in Korea for three years now in March of 2013. I will be going back home and was wondering how much the pension refund would come out to? 1st year (2.2 million), 2nd year (2.3 million), 3rd year (2.4 million). Anyone have any similar experiences? I have heard about 2 million won back per year, if your company does it right.

9% of your wages over 3 years.

When you apply for the refund the NPS will tell you how much you get back.

Closer to 7.4m.

Gross wages of 26.4m, 27.6m and 28.8m = 82.8million won *.09 (9%) = 7.452 million won.

Your REAL wage doesn't matter. What matters is the salary report made by your employer.

Check to make sure your employer didn't under-report your income and embezzle contributions. Happened to me, takes a while to fix.

You can get a contribution history printed out for free at the pension office to verify this.
