I ride the subway to work for a stretch, and was getting really annoyed with SK AP's in the subway car cutting me off while surfing.
Lately I have noticed that while streaming background music from an app like 8tracks, I no longer lose connection and my browsing experience suffers no issues (in fact, pages load faster). If I leave 8tracks off, then same old cut-offs return randomly, and my wifi goes searching for the signal again. This has led me to wonder if a constant signal keeps your phone from being cut off of the AP while in a high use environment or something?
If anyone else could try it and see if it improves things for them, please let me know. |

i have olleh.
I have noticed when I am near a station I lose reception - I assume that it is something to do with the router in the station and the one oin the car conflicting with each other...
Is this the case ? |

| Was discussing this with a phone store. They said it had to do with getting bumped by other users after not accessing for a time. So the music idea works. Of course you can also get booted just changing ap's. |

Unless you walk out of range from 1 AP to another AP signal, then it will not help to stream music, as I understand it. For example, if you're riding on a busy subway car it can help to stream it. |

Yes.. the way it works is that when you have multiple APs with the same name it will take the strongest. Within a certain tolerance. However, the ones at the stations seem to over power the ones on the train so you basically always get bumped. If the ones on the train were a little stronger you shouldn't be getting bumped. |
