It's a DIN with a yoke converter. The tanks around here are all yoke, but I wanted the option to use DIN in other countries and on tech dives.

Tempted. I'ma call up my mentor for my DMT, get what he thinks of HOGs. If I get an ok, I would want to take it into a local dive shop to get them inspected.

Does that sound ok to you?

The consensus is that bigger brands are cheaper in the long run due to lower maintenance costs associated with having parts on hand and the techs being familiar with the equipment vs. having to order stuff in and not necessarily knowing how to service the gear.

Did you buy locally or online (ie is there a dive shop near Seoul that can service HOG regs without grumbling?)

Apeks and HOGs are almost identical internally, so any Apeks shop should be able to service them.

That said, I bought them because I do my own service and they're the one of the only (if not THE only) manufacturer that sells service kits to the public.
