|
|
You know when the South Korean government is not doing a good job helping the North Korean refugees when.... a family of North Korean refugees who used to live in South Korea just returned to North Korea. The South Korean government officially confirmed this.
I have predicted this not too long ago.
Quote: |
Seoul on Friday verified a North Korean media report that a couple who defected from the communist country and settled down in the South has returned to their home country.
The North's state-run Korean Central News Agency said a day earlier that the couple, Kim Kwang-hyok and his wife Ko Jong-nam, returned to North Korea on Sept. 12 after being lured to defect to South Korea in 2008.
Having viewed the video clip of a news conference featuring the couple and other information, they are believed to have been among defectors to the South, the Unification Ministry said.
"The Kim-Ko couple and his (two-year-old) son Kim Se-han are assumed to have flown to China in early September before entering the North again," ministry spokesman Kim Hyung-suk said in a briefing.
According to the ministry, Kim entered the South in May, 2008 while Ko came here in January the next year. They tied the knot in the South in July, 2009, after first meeting in the South.
Kim's mother and younger brother, both defectors from the North, are believed to be living in Daegu, a southern South Korean city.
The government said it is investigating the motive of the couple's return to the North, adding the South will make more efforts to help defectors adjust well to life here.
It is the third time this year North Korea has reported on defectors who fled to South Korea, but then returned home.
The country has publicized the returns, saying life in the South is bitter and uncomfortable. as part of its ideological campaign against the capitalist South.
More than 24,000 North Koreans have defected to the South in recent decades after traveling through China, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, government data showed. (Yonhap) |

Think of this differently.
The young Kim Jong-un has sacked a very hardliner military advisor (Ri Yong-ho) not too long ago. This has pretty much forced the South Korean government to slowly but steadily change the policies towards North Korea.
Maybe our hatred against North Korea is the biggest problem. We should be ashamed of ourselves. |

After living in North Korea for your entire life, adapting to life in the ultra-competitive South is not necessarily easy or comfortable; prosperity may mean little if you don't feel you're sharing in it, and political freedom may mean little when you don't feel you are a true participant in the system. |

Sorry but your subtle attempt at trolling has failed again NoHoper.

Untrue. The 2MB governments position on the North has remained pretty much unchanged. If anything its its gotten tougher over the past year or so

Whats that supposed to mean exactly? I dont think many people HATE the North Korean people as a race. I dont personally know of anybody. I think most would accept that the NK people are probably one of the longest suffering in the world. However plenty of people DO hate the North Korean GOVT for overwhelmingly obvious reasons.

You don't need to be sorry.
You know. It's very difficult to troll other people when Kim Jong-un is getting rid of his hardliner associates in the North Korean military. Kicking out Ri Yong-ho, the top hardliner VIP in the North Korean military since papa Kim Jong-il, is very significant. You cannot ignore this. And even the South Korean government cannot conceal this.
You can call me crazy if you want. But your rude comment is never welcome to a pious Korean Christian like me. |

The US of A government is one of the biggest human rights violators in the world, with the help of the military. Of course, people still love the US government, despite it is a very dangerous human rights violator.
Why can't we love North Korean government?
People who love the US government should also love the North Korean government. For the sake of world peace, of course.
You can say that I'm trolling because I said this. Maybe I deserve a bad treatment for not thinking like a normal person. |

Makes you wonder when the headline is (paraphrased):
North Korean couple ESCAPE from South Korea.

Exactly. They "escaped"?? We're they being held here? Did they have restrictions on their travel (like in the North)?
As everyone else is seeing, this is yet another sad attempt by the OP to carry out some pathetic agenda.
No surprise if he chimes in to ask us to pray or something. lol |

South Koreans actually aren't allowed to go to North Korea, are they? This fellow took an "unauthorized" trip to North Korea and got arrested when he came back. Escaped might technically be the right word, even if it implies a certain amount of undue urgency.

Why would I go to North Korea, when I can pray to make America and Canada, and South Korea into Socialist countries? Please think before you say something strange.
If of all, did I say North Korea is great? Never said so. For the past few years, I only said that North Korea will be more sustainable than other liberal democratic countries. It's worth to think about North Korea in a positive light.
After all, you once supported the Sunshine Policy. It's time for you to do it once again.
You know. I heard so many "if you love it so much, why don't you live there" argument so much from other people.
I would like to say: Is the extreme hate against North Korea worth it? Is there any merit of extremely hating something? Many people seriously hate me or ridicule me only because I think differently from the majority of people. |

You said this as if it was a bad thing. Relax. Think of the bright side. You're always welcome to insult me for the weirdest reasons. |
