Made by LG. I just checked the frequencies and it should work in South Korea. I really want to pull the trigger and use it here in the US but nervous that it won't work in South Korea.

What do yall think? Buy now in US or wait to come to Korea and get the Lumia 920?

It's such a ridiculous phone for the price. This is surely the first time that a top-tier phone is being released off-contract for $300. If you don't care about LTE and don't need a lot of storage, this is a contender for best phone out there. I'm back in the US now, and I'm on the $30/month unlimited text + 3G/HSPA+ T-mobile plan. You save so much money over the course of two years by avoiding the contract, but you normally have to pay way more for the phone itself. This is the disruption that the cell phone industry needs.

Great advice! MY only issue is the camera. It's nowhere near the capabilities of the Lumia 920. Of course its improved but I may be tempted to spend the extra 300.

I didn't even think of the camera. I rarely use my phone for anything but texting and internet. This is the perfect phone for me, but I guess it isn't for everybody. I'm just tickled pink that somebody finally released a cell phone at a really good price. Comparing $300 off-contract to the $600-$700 I paid for my Samsung Galaxy S (original) on-contract with SK a few years ago is huge.

Imainly use my camera for recording stiff like a timetable on a wall and stuff like that.

This phone is by far the best bang for buck on the market now. The screen apparently beats the SIIIs according to some android sites I read. Looking forward to a full review. If it drops in Korea might buy one and give my missus my old S2. Would be good not to have all the K-crapware on it.

Been reading review after review and apparently the 920 isn't all its cracked up to be.

Might just have to run with the Nexus 4

It's a solid choice but just remember, no SD card storage expansion, so 8GB is actually 6GB and that's all you're ever going to get.

Also the battery is not removable if that's important to you. Glass back cracks too if dropped.

I love the way Google is shaking up the market and forcing the carriers to stop controlling pricing (it was getting to the point where 24 month contracts were going to be standard...ludicrous)

Let me know if it works. I was thinking about picking one up and trying to pawn my s3 contract on to somebody.
