Was it Mr Kurzweil who said the Replicator will be the next big technology that will change our lives? This is it. Itll just get cheaper. Im waiting for the home replicator, and musicians will print their own records, kids their own toys.
Wait until metals or near metals can be done...
Still an analog world, even with digital |

metals can be done. check out a direct metal selective laser melting (SLM) printer from the world's leading 3d printer company.
http://production3dprinters.com/slm/direct-metal-slm
and as for home printers there are many viable options like maker bot's 3d replicator (http://store.makerbot.com/replicator-404.html)
or 3DS' cube (http://www.3dsystems.com/press-releases/3d-systems-cube-voted-easiest-use-make)
within a decade a personal home 3d printer with satisfactory resolution will be more than affordable for any middle-income family, mark my words. |
