My school renovated the washrooms and they replaced all the squatter toilets with sit down toilets. I like the squatter. Now they are gone. They are disappearing from Korea and I am not happy about it.

I want the squatter back!

I agree. It flows out more comfortably and naturally squatting.
The problem in China is that they always miss the bowl and just either go all over it or all around it while rarely going in it so when you stand over it your feet are actually in it Confused

I gotta say, if you miss the high incidence of inaccuracy which one
has to admit is visibly evident in squat toilets the world over, then
yeah, ok, miss it.

I sometimes miss it too.

Weird. My close and only friend likes squatloos too. Why? I don't even have a clue.

Go teach in Thailand or SE Asia and thats all you'll have in some areas. The bus stations sometimes have a few Western toilets with footprints all over them.

I missed the bowl once, and it bounced off the edge on to the floor like it was a dog toy bouncing off the edge of a table.

Yeah, I'd have to say that when balancing the healthfulness of the squatter with the cleanliness of a sit-down that the sit-down wins for public toilets. Though I've seen many washrooms with both available.

I'm ordering this like...today.

Western toilets are really bad for your body. Well, not the toilet itself per-se, but the position the toilet puts your body into. That upright position actually kind of squeezes your lower intestines shut, whereas squatting opens it up. Think of a hose that is 3/4 open as opposed to fully opened.

I've recently started bending my back when I'm on a western toilet because everything flows better...but it's way more uncomfortable than just squatting. so, thanks for the link!

I like the squatter too. Only draw back is that I have to watch IT slowly crawl out like a snake. I hate snakes. Confused

In my bathroom we have a small plastic foot stool next to the toilet that you can put your feet on when it comes time to do your business. Put your feet up on that, bring your chest toward your legs, and you're in the squatter position all while sitting on the pot.

Let's face it, squatloos are filthy, water all over the floor. As for your pants how do you keep them from dropping to the toilet or the wet filthy floor?

Squatters are healthier? Have we regressed back to the early 19th century, before the discovery of modern hygiene?
