They (whoever) are going to have to get better at identifying the type of people that are potentially going to do this kind of stuff. I just don't see any other way.

I feel that thier are many things that could be done, but the "the love of money" gets in the way in everything.

I grew up in Connecticut. Newtown was a quiet and peaceful place to live.

What a disgusting tragedy.

I just woke up and already had the TV tuned to the news channel. The report said that the death toll is 27 including the shooter. Also, the shooter's brother is in custody.

count is now 26 dead, 20 kids (5 year olds).

This is horrible beyond words.

The killer was a 20 year old make with 2 guns and a bullet proof vest....this gun thing needs to get controlled.

Seven posts in and we're already ready to argue, eh?
Well, you take your outrage and start the process to amend the Constitution to nullify the second amendment. But I think I'm just going to feel sorry for these families for a bit.

Right now, just be saddened. Gun control can be argued 'tomorrow'.
Obama visibly upset and shed some tears. If you're a parent its especially hard to take (I'm not) and probably hug your kids a little tighter today.

No time is ever a good time for a tragedy but near the holidays is especially painful.

I do not see anyone arguing.

We are sharing information.

I had to explain to my son why every channel was discussing kindergarten kids being gunned down. It has been a hard day.

He wants to write a letter to the mothers and fathers of those kids, this is horrible.

Cannot imagine how those parents feel, how the siblings that are left behind feel, how the people at the school or in town feel. This defies understanding.

I am not arguing anything, I just do not understand why anyone should have access to guns and to a bullet proof vest in a small city in CO. Just don't understand.

Even in total war you do not kill children. This is one of the most horrible things I've read about. He executed an entire classroom of kids.

Blame guns, the guns are doing this. Those guns are all to blame. The nutjobs pulling the triggers have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any of it. Those damn guns are going to kill all of us one day, all by themselves.

My daughter is 5.

I cannot imagine the pain that they are going through right now.

These families should have been getting ready for a fun Christmas, instead...

I'm so 'effin mad AND sad about this... and I'm a world away.

Sometimes, I wished I believed in hell.
