Yes, you read that right, there's a brand new Payless Shoes open in Myeongdong. That means questionable quality shoes in knock-off designer styles for low prices. But more importantly, TALL LADIES, it means they sell up to size 270 in everything! Yahoo! Buy 1/Get 1 half-off was happening as of Thursday. Make sure you go down to the basement level, where the cheaper shoes are, gals.

Go out exit 5 of Myeongdong Station and walk straight. Turn right between a CU Mart and Ediya Coffee. It's a couple minutes down this alley on your left-hand side.

Did you happen to notice if they have anything in the smaller sizes, such as 225 mm?

If you wear bigger than 310 you know you're basically stuck wearing athletic shoes and your choices will be slim, even in the states (I wear 310 myself)

i went there. it's not like in the states. small men's selection

the shoes are 20k-85k for mens and i saw up to 200k for ladies

the 20k shoes were not in 310 size. the 310 shoes were 50k and up

i'd go back there for some adidas knockoffs if itaewon didn't have anything good under $100

Make sure you check the US size not just the Korean size when you try on shoes there. I saw a women's size 250 shoe that was US size 9...and I know that's wrong because I'm a size 8.5 and 250 barely fits me.

Prices are more expensive than in Payless back in the U.S. but I have never found my husband (size 13) shoes for less than 80,000 won in Itaewon...unless I've been shopping in the wrong place.

Sorry, but the directions in the OP are garbage.

For an easier find, head out of Exit 6 (the busiest one that leads out to the HUGE Uniqlo) and head down the main drag. Bust a left at Dunkin' Donuts and you'll see it at the end of the alley.

What about EE sizes? Been a long time since I was in Myong Dong to buy shoes. I last went into the Doc Martens shop there and they had western sizes. But it's been a few years.

On the topic of shoe stores, has anyone seen Merrell stores around Seoul? They used to have one in Itaewon but it closed last year.
