Did anyone get anything surprising? I got the usual cookies, chocolates and knick-knacks from students. The school gave us a coffee mug and the day off tomorrow. I was fine with all of that; it is thoughtful. Then I saw my monthly pay slip (today happened to be pay day as well), and there it was....cha-ching.

Lots and lots of rice cake. Meanwhile, I had bought a couple bags of Hershey's Nuggets at Costco last week, on sale, and ended up being the big hero. Remember, everyone loves chocolate.

My Christmas gift comes tomorrow. It's the expression on my son's face on Christmas morning. Nothing better.

A notification from the school that my schedule has been moved around/reduced and my winter vacation now starts 10 days earlier. Far surpasses any greasy-fingerprint covered chocolate or coughed-on Ginseng and Nengmyun flavored rice-tard cake I've generally come to expect.

A rather generous end of year bonus that had been deposited into the bank account along with the normal salary.

Why aren't FT's working in Korea offered bonuses like other KT's?

I let out a big brownish fart in the office. Razz

Merry Christmas to all!

That's a good question. I worked in the ps system for years there and never saw such a bonus. It took me coming here working in a Korean school to get the same as the Ks.
