I want to buy some Chinese-made guitar pedals that are not available here. They are available in the UK, so I could ask my folks to send them here but that seems mad, considering I am so close to China. Is there any Chinese G-market equivalent where I can order directly from China? |

I found the same stuff here online. It is about 30% cheaper in the UK than it is here! That is madness, but it shows how screwed up the Korean business model is. Too many middle men taking their cut, I guess. |

It's the Asian business model - gouge domestic consumers. A lot of made-in-China stuff is more expensive in China than it is in the US. |

If something is more expensive than in 'Rip-off Britain', then something is seriously wrong. I found this site on the web
http://www.aliexpress.com/
It could be a scam, but I went ahead and ordered the pedal anyway. If it is genuine, I save over 70,000 won. |

I was thinking that, but I heard (probably from this forum) that goods under a certain value don't get duties imposed - or something like that. I ordered something for $50, which retails for around 130,000 here. To be honest, I have no idea whatsoever, but I ordered a similar item from Amazon a few weeks ago and Customs didn't call me. |

This is the Chinese equivalent of gmarket:

I typed in 'Ibanez' and it worked fine, although the prices on some seem really cheap? |

A lot of guitar companies are moving their factories to China now, so you can get cheap Chinese-made stuff (far inferior to the US made gear though). The product I ordered was made in China by a Chinese-owned company, so it isn't worth more than the $50 I paid. |

Dealextreme has some things. Do not know if they are good or not. Dealextreme has free shipping and tonnes of things to choose from. Only downside is it takes them forver to get the item and packaged at times.
