A friend and I went to an Uzbek place called Samarkand. I had been there years ago. I liked the food. One reason I went was because the Kazakh place often doesn't have lamb kebabs. We did have to wait 30 minutes for our kebabs, but we ate salads and had bread and some other light meat dish while we waited for our skewers. It's pretty good. It's in an alley opposite of the Woori bank, and it has a red sign. You have to go in the alley that's next to this newish cafe (for the area at least) called Megabok (Alef-To). I would definitely go there again. There are other Uzbek eateries in that same alley if you'd like to try one of those instead.
Dongdaemun Culture and History stop exit 7
Take the green light to get there otherwise you'll have to walk a lot in that massive station to get to exit 7. |

Great thread, guys. Thanks for all of the valuable information. I never knew about Little Russia and I'm looking forward to trying out some of the restaurants there. |

I was there and it was great food. This is the kind of restaurant that even newbies to this kind of food will enjoy. We ate and ate and ate and were very full and it cost less than 40,000 total. We drank black tea but they also had vodka. Walk out exit 7 and turn left. Walk for a few blocks and you'll see the Woori bank on your right, across the street. Turn left past Megabok down the alley and walk straight until you come to a group of restaurants. Samarqand is one of them. |
