I am in the U.K. I am thinking of teaching English in Korea. If I start now, how long would it take me to gather the compendious set of documents needed to apply for an E-2 visa?
I believe that after I get those documents, I will have 3-6 months before I would need to apply for more documents. So, it would give me a little while to look for a job.

I'm from the US. It took me from March 15 to May 5 to get all of my docs in order. After that, I found my job in a week or so. In retrospect, I would have really taken more time to search and accept a job because I ended up in a miserable situation. Anyway, that job started mid July.

I'm still online! Yes, I am definitely going to do some research online. Recently I was offered a job. The school put me in contact with a foreigner who was working there, but the foreigner did not reply. I will try again. Some of what the interviewer said suggested that it was easy to get fired. So I am still job hunting.

With Korea, I would definitely ask lots of questions and do online research about the school and it's branches.

But I have a word of encouragement for you. Your job started in July. That means that even if the school fires you they cannot recoup the cost of your flight to Korea etc. You have been there over 6 months and have saved money.

It can be done in a month. I've just gotten documents in under a month and I'm doing it from Korea.
