Are there other expats who are attempting to homeschool their kids in Korea? Do they ever meet to swap teaching material, ideas, or to socialize?

I've considered it.

I think over on Geoju there was a poster/thread about doing it.

I tried joining GeoJu but they ask for a scan of my Alien Registration card (with all sensitive info blanked out except last digits of your number, your initials, and the expiry date.

Is this wise? Could this be a compromise of security?

There are a few "f-visa" websites that require that for joining. The ones I know about have been good for that - especially considering that all of the actual info is blacked out.

Really, it just seems to be about confirming that you have an F visa "on hand".

No, since your personal data is blacked out.
It is just a means to keep the short time, D and E-visa riff-raff off of the site.
It is mostly a good thing.

(I'm not allowed to register over there... not an F visa; so I can't be of more help to your registration).

I never joined those F sites because I don't feel comfortable giving out my personal information to strangers on the internet.
