Like the title says I want to make the numbers show 010-XXXX-XXXX instead of 010 XXX-XXXXX.
I know it's not big deal but would like to display it the way it does in other Korean phones.
if you know the setting somewhere would appreciate it. |

Change the phone's language to Korean. As far as I'm aware this is the only way to do it. If the language is set to English all phone numbers will display in North American format.
This is an issue with all Korean-model Galaxy phones. |

We have a newer Samsung microwave that only displays military time. No option to change.
LG sells a washing machine that has a 39 second annoyingly loud bell between rinse cycles. No way to change.

Like a lot of tech companies, they try to make assumptions about you based on various things. Assumptions which might often be right, but when they are wrong, there is no way to change them.
For example if you also keep Korean names in your address book, you'll probably notice that it doesn't offer you a scroll option for the various Korean letters, they're all stored under # if you use the fast scroll to the right of the screen.
If you switch to Korean language, suddenly ㄱ ㄴ ㄷ etc are all available on the scroll.
Companies do very little to properly accommodate bilingual users or travellers. |
