A friend was telling me that I would probably not be able to go out of the country this summer for vacation because immigration may not let me in due to having less than six months on my ARC card. Is there any truth to this? |

His advice is inaccurate (at least as you posted it).
Registered foreigners (those with an ARC) are free to leave and return without restriction for as long as your ARC remains valid.
Most countries require you to have MORE THAN 6 months validity on your PASSPORT for international travel.
China requires you to have 6 months validity on your ARC to apply for an entry visa to China (if you are applying at the embassy in Korea). You can apply for your visa to China up until your 6-month mark. The visa (single entry) is good for 90 days after issuance (you need to enter China within 90 days of issuance). There is no restriction if you apply from the Chinese embassy in your home country.
