Here are some pieces of info on the video news.

독버섯처럼 번지는 불법 성매매, 이젠 동성애자 성매매까지 등장했습니다.
Illegal prostitution is spreading like poisonous mushrooms and now even gay prostitution exists. |

서울 이태원과 강남 등지에서 성행하는 이 동성애 성매매는 현행법으로 얼마든지 처벌이 가능한 상태.
Gay prostitution which is popular in Seoul's Itaewon and Gangnam is illegal and can be prosecuted under the current laws. |
So yeah, if you are planning to go to Itaewon or Gangnam, don't forget about this. Or better, forget about this. |

This is not shocking at all. You have a country that has a very high respect for masculinity and the alpha (갑 in Korean) and beta (을 in Korean) human relationship is very strong in the society.
And gay (게이) has become a word among elementary school kids to mean close friendship between two boys. |

Another tabloid story in the conservative media? Big deal.
Prostitution in practically all imaginable form has been going on in Korea for generations, so there's really no need to act as if this is a new and particularly alarming phenomenon. |

I worked as a gay prostitute once but quit because it was a pain in the ass. |

I like women exclusively because men are disgusting (myself included), but if I was gay (knowing me) I would be the most in-your-face, straight-up, hyper-charged flamer that the world has ever seen.
Count your blessings. |

Wasn't one of the most famous Korean movies about male prostitution (in a historical setting)? Is this really new? |

OTOH, there have been young men selling sex in the guise of house calls with benefits for some time. OTOH, who cares? This is mostly, as far as I can see, a result of the internet.
Private transactions between two (or more) adults should be private in almost all cases. |
