First Nations clash with police at anti-fracking protest
In New Brunswick, Mikmaq tribal community protests of shale gas development continued in the face of a court injunction. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police brought snipers and full combat gear. Eventually, Mikmaq responded by burning their police cars. |

I'm with the FN re: the environment but also with the Canadian gov in putting down the rebellion.

Canada destroyed protectionism. So the 30 million or so Canadians have to compete with a billion lower wage Chinese etc. Obviously they can't. What's left? Raping the land. That's all they have. (And the incredible Canadian housing bubble). |

I'm glad this played out the way it did. Nobody got hurt and the natives can't continue with their lies about "peaceful protest" after they were found to have guns, ammo, knives, and shrapnel bombs. |
