Anyone get their PADI in Thailand who can offer suggestions on locations and dive instructors?

Koh Tao is pretty much an all diving island. Even to the point where if you aren't diving, they don't want you in their hotel. I wouldn't really say I "recommend" it, but I imagine they have PADI courses starting everyday, so it would be really easy to just show up and start a course.

As someone who lived and taught scuba there, this is pretty much correct.

I did my course and became Dive Instructor in Ko Tao. I agree with the above posters. Tremendous amounts of dive shops/schools there. So its easy for instruction. If you are already certified there is much better diving around Thailand though. I've heard Pucket and Similian are awesome.
