It's the weather I tell you. Europeans just can't handle the heat. South Africa was chilly and ideal for the Europeans.
Also, don't forget Argentina, they'd love to win on enemy territory. |

The weather's a factor plus the Brazilians playing on home turf gives them a great chance.
However I fancy this German team to deal with the conditions. They've got the best midfield going to the WC(gotze, muller, rues, ozil, draxler, schweinsteigger, khedira, gundogan, etc.) and won't be afraid of anyone.
I also think they'll play the fact that no European team has won in South America to their advantage when those games come in the later phases. I've already read people like Oliver Bierhoff playing down their chances based on the things mentioned above.
Last year's Champions League was also a good indicator of the powershift in European football from the south to the north. There's a tremendous confidence in German football right now so I expect them to go all the way.

This, and maybe the next WC will be their window of opportunity to win one. Most of the German players will be hitting their peak in these next few years. |

If a Euro team doesn't make it to the finals it will be the first time in decades that has happened.
Germany won't win it this time. They are waiting to win it on Russian soil in 2018. |

The Americans and Aussies are very unlikely to progress from their respective groups.
The English, however, have a better that equal chance I think. They could also be going a little further given that their Group D will meet Group C in the round of 16.
Thereafter, it's a tie with the teams coming fromh Groups A and B (the Dutch, Spanish and Brazilians for example)in the quarters.
Getting into the last 8 would be a great WC for the English. Hopefully the Italians and Uruguayians will see to it that it never gets that far. |

Actually they might be playing for a scoreless draw against Uruguay as well. Then go for the kill against Costa Rica.......which will probably end in a scoreless draw.

Yes, this will be a three match tournament for England. And it will continue to go downhill from there, although with England's current 'absolute nadar of talent in any position' squad it's hard to imagine how that will be possible. |
