So I came to Korea in August with an apostilled FBI background check and an apostilled diploma. My director never turned them in and I have them with me. I'm on an F-4 Visa and my documents expire at the end of January.

Now I heard that the FBI CBC is only valid for 6 months but my recruiter keeps telling me that since I haven't left Korea, I can use them and don't have to get a new one as long as I don't leave for the US again.

Can anyone validate this? Is there anyway I can turn them in somewhere so that they don't expire. I would really hate to get new documents.

The FBI expiry is 6 months with immigration. Since you are F-4 your registration is to be with Ministry of Education. I do not know if MOE goes by six months or not. To be on the safe side I would assume so. You boss is an idiot and is risking a fine and possible closure by not registering you. You were to be registered before 2 weeks after starting working.
Have you considered registering yourself with your local MOE? Can teachers do it themselves? I wonder how it is done?

Also NO BAD! Bad! Bad recruiter.... and waygook. That is too logical with you not leaving and it still being good. Never expect logic when it comes to government, bureaucracy, and immigration. If you are lucky you might get that logical break.
