A student of mine told me it was recently raised to 200,000 won from 150,000 won. I was doubtful, but she insisted - said she LOVES shopping overseas online, and she just found this out.

Anybody hear anything?

iHerb hasn't--they've still got the same limit in place.

General ceiling is still 150K Won, this amount includes local sales tax/VAT and international shipping cost.
OTOH, that '200K Won' claim comes from a clause for personal import not exceeding USD 200 under Korea-US FTA, whose amount EXCLUDES state sales tax and shipping cost.
Nevertheless, not all items pass the increased ceiling. Only imports of 'Listed items' of up to 200 dollars may be imported duty-free. 'The list' includes clothing items made of fabrics, shoes, bedding items, printed items, certain furniture, etc. but EXCLUDES leather and fur items, medicines, agricultural products, perfume, etc.
What I've listed above is by no means exhaustive.
If you import a mix of listed items and (unlisted) general items within one shipment, the presence of ANY unlisted item disqualifies the entire shipment for the higher ceiling. Then all will be processed as general items with 150K Won ceiling under the old rule.
