Recently I signed a 2 year Iphone contract with a monthly device fee that I will pay off over 2 years. I'm thinking of leaving Korea next year instead.
What happends if I leave Korea without paying off the device?
Sorry but I am totally clueless on this.
Thanks in advance |

You would either have to pay off the rest of the balance on the phone, which after one year would be around $450 depending on which iphone you bought, or you could try selling it and using that money to pay off your balance.
If you pay it off, then you can take it with you and not have to sign a contract since the phone will be unlocked.
If you're not sure about how to sell it, you could always ask a Korean co-worker to place an ad for you. |

You could do a contract transfer also.
If nothing works out and you do leave, you will be pretty much banned from getting another phone until the debt is settled if you should return to Korea. |
