|
|
I would like to apply for GEPIK. It may be too late for this year, I don't know. But I am required to do a 3 minute video self-introduction. How do I do that?
I don't have a video camera. Would a normal digital camera be okay? My computer has a camera lens but I still haven't figured out if it can record images without my having to be on Skype.
I am great with languages, including foreign languages, but with technology I am a wee bit slow. |

Computer cam, web-cam, digital cam or even a selfie clip with your cell phone is fine.
They want a short 3-minute video of you talking to see what you look and sound like. do a quick peek on youtube; there are lots of them.
Just keep in mind that you are applying for a teaching position and not discussing last week's drunken escapades in Hongdae. Keep it professional but not too stiff.

Well, I will do it with the camera. I tended to go out drinking in Itaewon rather than Hongdae. You sometimes get a slightly older, and less pretentious crowd. The video will be about teaching. |

Funny, when I applied back in 2007, all you needed to be able to do was to walk and talk at the same time. Some of those GEPIK vids you see on you tube are scary, I remember one of some ginger Scouse kid (BA in Drama I think) speaking good Korean - I bet he got a place over the middle aged MA TESOL holder. |

Appearances play a huge role here. Make sure the lighting is good and that you are wearing business clothes (and are well groomed). You may even want to write a script on what to say. Good luck! |
