Anyone here a NEAT examiner? I'd really like to be able to do it. |

I give up... what is a NEAT examiner other than one who is clean and tidy?
I am often neat when I do examinations.

National English Assessement Test. Though being organized was the first thing that came to my mind too. |

I think the government has ditched this exam. I'm not sure why one would be interested in investing time or money into it now. |

Yeah, I also heard this was on the outs. Hagwon was big for a couple years though. But it's a standardized test, so what would you need to be an examiner anyway? You'd just have to watch kids weren't copying... |

Originally it would have had speaking and writing components, making it a better test but also requiring well-trained examiners. |

This. It got canned. It was never actually given as a test. |

They're still training people and they need people to grade the writing. YOu usually get paid to do the training as well. |

There were three different levels of NEAT, one for primary school students, one for secondary school students (which was supposed to replace the English section on the College Entrance Exam) and one for adults.
The tests for primary and secondary tests were scrapped.
The one for adults was continued and used for some government jobs.
To be an examiner you need to be nominated by one of the core schools that worked to create the tests. |

I am a NEAT examiner. To get it, you have to be working as a Professor or English instructor at certain Korean Universities.
I will be up in Seoul at the end of the month writing questions for it. |
