I love how Korean women (pre-ajumma stage) dress. It's a delight to watch attractive, well-dressed women go by. In my opinion they are some of the best dressed women in the world. And the mini-shorts and mini-skirts almost make the summer endurable. But I must protest the latest trend among young women in Korea. We've all noticed it in recent months and it ain't pretty. It ain't cool, and it ain't edgy. It's just wrong. What am I blathering on about? Well, I'll tell ya. The 'ripped jeans' phase that they're going through. It's caught on like a wildfire and it's awful. It's aesthetically unpleasing...and just plain dumb. I hated the ripped jeans phase back home, and I dislike it even more here.

And here's the kicker. For every woman wearing ripped jeans, that's one woman who's not wearing short-shorts or a skirt with high heels. This is a serious step backwards for women's fashion in Korea, and for my happiness.

Agree and agree.

Korean women know how to dress. But ripped jeans, very Philippines trashy, I would expect Korean women to have more class.

I think this is the first time we've ever agreed on anything. Very Happy

Meh, trends are trends. Sometimes they're stupid, but people don't want to be out of style.

I've always thought they must just be a pain in the ass to put on though.

If I have just one hole in an old pair of jeans my foot will go through it EVERY god damn time.

I saw one walk by this morning in some tight white "business shorts" with big heels. Almost spilled my coffee all over myself, fantastic. Shocked

you mean walking around in hipster rags or clothes that don't fit their bodies or the latest fashions of jcpenney? if that's what you mean, then that gets a resounding "NO" from me.

if you mean more sexy yet stylish like new york fashion, then i'm all for it. i think it's ludicrious that people are so scared of breasts that women feel like they NEED to wear bras when many of the women here clearly don't (this problem is not only here but in other countries like america but we clearly don't want most american women to go bra-less). that social stigma needs to be killed with righteous fire and women should feel free to wear what they want.

as it stands now korean fashion on women is leagues better than typical "western" fashion.

I've seen a lot of 20 somethings wearing their pants pulled up well past their belly buttons too. When I told my wife that it was grandma style she said, "No, you just have no eye for fashion." I was like, but my grandma wore pants like that....Oh well...

High waist pants been popular for a while. They look good if you got hips.

Look on the bright side: with ripped jeans you get to see little hints of legs... better than non-ripped I guess. But way worse than short shorts.

I don't think K-women fashion is very edgy, and it's very cut and paste and flavor of the month, but they DO look good in lots of things. But that's what happens when you aren't fat. Clothes just look better. Good legs go a loooong way as well.

Korean women dress very neatly with outfits well put together. But they are boring, not edgy, and they're fashion victims. When something is "in" every one wears it. Japanese women dress a lot better than Korean women. I don't even want to start in on Korean men.

Aren't they kinda weirdo-style though? I don't like girls that look like they escaped from the loony bin.
