This is a non-issue.
Air from China is toxic no doubt but by the time in reaches Korea it has been diluted thousands or millions of times.
It basically has zero effect on Korea.
Korea remains pristine and I don't expect PM 2.5 levels in Korea to go out of the green safe zone.
You can rest your little head. |

Koreas forested hills tend to act as an air purifier.
Sometimes though it has been bad enough to irritate/redden the eyes. |

A sizable portion of the yellow dust originating in China makes its way into Korea. That mixed with pollution made in Korea can be unhealthy to breathe. |

Some pretty bad air quality expected for Monday (for Seoul at least). I've been using this site, and there's a forecast at the bottom:

I broke down and wore a mask a couple times recently, looks like I'll be doing it again. |

A mask is useless against the pm 2.5 dust. You need a respiratory to take care of that. |

The PM2.5 pollution in Seoul is our own. If you look at the sounding areas during bad days like outer 경기 or 인천 they have 40-80 PM2.5 when Seoul is 100-200. This is not China its Ours! Shit old cars, coal burning, factories, BBQ, and yes okay busses with Chinese tourists.
The Yellow dust is PM10 and if you dodnt have a Particulate Respirator on hand just stay inside or use a simple mask
creeper1... Korea Safe ??? you need to look at the quality every day. We have shit air, not China shit but PM2.5 is usually 60-120 most days. |

Of course it is all relative but, here in Beijing, 60-120 for pm2.5 levels are a godsend. Levels such as that mean its time to run outside and breathe the good air.
I wish the levels were 60-120 more often.
As I said, for all intents and purposes, Korea is pristine and that includes even Seoul. |

Ha ha, you've got to be kidding.
Currently 155, which is the red "unhealthy" level http://aqicn.org/city/bucheon/ compared to 197 for Beijing, which is also the red "unhealthy" level http://aqicn.org/city/beijing/ .
How about the largest city in the U.S.?
http://aqicn.org/city/newyork/
27. Much lower. |

You posted information about Bucheon. Bucheon is very close to Seoul but isn't actually Seoul I believe. It is in Gyeonggi Do
That's like me posting info for Baoding (close to Beijing) as passing it off as Beijing.

As I said for all intents and purposes Korea is pristine. |

What? Bucheon is right on the edge of Seoul. It close to the border of the city limits and only a few miles away from Seoul's city center. Baoding on the other hand is 100 miles (150km) away from Beijing. Not the same thing.
The center of Seoul is 125 now which can't be good to breathe.
China: most unhealthy air in the world.
South Korea: not quite as bad as China but still unhealthy.
American air: healthy to breathe |
