So I bought the WD Elements at Costco a year or so ago and now it has failed. The WD corp recommends one single data recovery place in Korea--it has a location in Samsung-dong in Seoul.
Can any computer place get my files back for me (WD says through its perspicuous analysis that the files are still there--we'll see huh), or should I definitely go with the recommended place. Anyone else had WD Element recovery done? Thanks. |

Depends on what condition your HD is in. If it still runs, maybe. But if it doesn't you'll have to pay the Piper for a really expensive recovery.
As far a I know, in the States those recovery places charge a few hundred to just look at your shot HD. If you want a recovery done, it's in the thousands. |
