The slutwalk did begin in Toronto after a Toronto police officer advised women to not dress like "sluts" to help decrease the chances of rape. I do not consider it madness. I find it troubling that the officer didn't define how a *beep* dresses. What is considered normal non alluring attire to many Canadian men could be considered "slutty" to many other Canadian men. Also he might have been helpful if he provided stats to back his claim restricting your choice in attire makes you safer.

Anyway, if it's "madness" to you, you're welcome to your own opinion.

Women quite literally have enlarged breasts for the sexual enjoyment of men, and the feminist refusal to acknowledge that is both ridiculous and dangerous.

An interesting hypothesis. What's the research on that? Also curious which feminists are refusing to acknowledge that?

...on a simple method by which they could lower their chances of being the target of rape and other forms of sexual assault, just as the police advise people to lock their doors, not leave valuables unattended in plain sight, carry mace/tasers/handguns, avoid certain areas, etc. Acknowledging there is evil in the world and advising people on ways in which they can protect themselves from such evil is indicative of benevolence, not patriarchal oppression as the slutwalk protesters believe.

Are you serious? Enlarged human female breasts is one of the most basic examples given in any evolutionary biology text to demonstrate intersexual selection. They confer no survival advantage - not to their offspring and certainly not to themselves - and serve only to attract mates. That's the very definition of intersexual selection.

The slutwalkers, as noted above.

Cool. So it should be really easy for you to cite some research on that. Specifically you made this assertion: "Women quite literally have enlarged breasts for the sexual enjoyment of men" Curious to see the scientific literature on that.

I've not noticed. Could you cite their denials?

Other posters here are more than happy to waste their time with those kinds of exchanges, but I am not. If you feel I am incorrect in any of my assertions and wish to challenge and engage me on them, I suggest you do so directly.

I thought I did. You made a claim. I asked you what the scientific evidence was for it. You suggested it was well established in science. I asked for a couple papers.

I would not consider it a waste of time to back my claims with some links to actual science behind the claims I make.

A flood of public disapproval swamped the movement to allow women to go topless in public in Fort Collins.

The City Council on Tuesday voted to change city code regarding public nudity, but not to the extent that women may legally expose their breasts in parks and other public places.

Braless works for me.

This board is unable to handle such conversation anymore. I am sorry. Like the Korean ESL market, this board's most productive days are behind it.
