Those who bought the Rosetta Stone Korean version 3 back in the pre-2010 dates have been screwed by Rosetta Stone. The version eventually stops working and they no longer provide technical service for it. I spent like 400 US for all three levels and poof, no more. I would avoid that provider. |

One would probably be well served by avoiding Rosetta Stone whether it works or not, because it is an over-priced piece of software which is absurdly inefficient and ineffective for language learning. It's not really worth using for free, much less for money. |

Looks like there is a sucker born every day.
Anyone that spends money on Rosetta Stone should really do some research ahead of time. The program is nothing more and nothing less than a bunch of flashcards with voice overs - and to make it worse, there is no translation of what is being said - you have to derive what is being said from flashcards.
And they charge 400 bucks for that pile of garbage - with a ton of fake reviews on amazon.
It is a scam that's been making money to the creep that came up with it for a few decades now - it's surreal. |

I prefer things like "Teach Yourself" because you can keep that forever. You could scan the book and have the PDF and convert your CD into MP3. And you can use TalktomeinKorean and other sites. With the more economical books out there, why dump hundreds of dollars on Rosetta? Also, I think, my two cents worth, Pimsleur is decent. It can be pricey, and the vocabulary used might be somewhat limited, it can help you produce some of the language in a natural manner and give you a decent foundation. |
