Hi everyone.

I"m looking to relocate to Korea to teach and am wondering what opportunities, if any, exist for my filipina wife to find a nursing job. Are there any opportunities for nursing in Korea for filipinas?

Thanks for your input.

Does she speak, read, and write Korean at a native or near native level?

Has she passed her LPN exam (or others)? If so, and particularly if she has experience, she may be able to find a job at a 'Nursing Hagwon (institute)'.

Yes, they do exist, and because many want to pass that exam, and because it's in English, they're sometimes looking to hire teachers. She'd be teaching exam strategies to help Koreans pass.

You'd probably need to get here first and then ask around to find out where these institutes are located. I know there's one in Incheon, so I imagine there are at least a few in Seoul.

Good luck!

IF she has passed her boards (NLE) at home and has a valid, unexpired PRC then she can get work as a nurse in one of the "international" departments at some of the larger hospitals.

If she does not have a valid PRC then no.
She cannot work as a nurse (no PRC) and cannot "legally" teach in English (wrong passport).

IF you are here on an E2 and she has an F3 (dependant family) then she can probably find (illegal) work as a teacher at some hagwons.

...and I meant RN.

A lot of Korean nurses want to work on base hospitals in Korea and they do hire from time to time. If she's a certified nurse, worth at least looking into.
