I'm moving to Sinchon (near Yonsei) soon, where do people hang out at night? Names of good bars please. |

After taking a walk in the area, seems like there's a canadian-owned bar and some dive bars for students. There's also a new bar (Yaletown Burgers?) that is opening soon. Will check it out next weekend. |

Beer O'Clock is pretty popular with the western teacher crowd and they get a lot of K business as well. Owner is cool, great selection of beers, and a decent pizza to boot.

Yes Beer O'Clock was alright, went there last weekend. Will be at Yaletown this weekend (Friday?), if some of you want to go we can go together.

A good place for drinks and good tunes is Woodstock, which is like 25 years old. The owner has a great sound system and tunes, and you need not order a side dish. That place hasn't changed and that's what's great about it. |

Agreed. It's Shinchon's equivalent of a college dive bar. Always a good time. Haven't been in years, but have great memories of the place. And it's right around the corner from Beer-O-Clock! |

Just know that Hongdae is really close, and that's part of the reason Sinchon is dying a slow death despite all the efforts toward restoring its past glory like closing off most traffic and holding events. The only reason I go there is because of Woodstock, I've been going to that bar since 1995. |

It's cyclical. Give it a couple-few years, and that hood will be thriving again. Too many universities and and too much proximity to downtown to suggest otherwise. |
