https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/12/nyregion/judge-dead-hudson-river-sheila-abdus-salaam.html?_r=0

Quote:
Sheila Abdus-Salaam, an associate judge on New York State’s highest court and the first African-American woman to serve on that bench, was found dead on Wednesday in the Hudson River, the authorities said.

. . .

Zakiyyah Muhammad, the founding director of the Institute of Muslim American Studies, said Judge Abdus-Salaam became the first Muslim judge in the United States when she started serving on the State Supreme Court in 1994.

This one is highly suspicious and may require the FBI to investigate if they aren't already. There are stories of her being tough with the NYPD and some in the department were calling it a suicide without an autopsy being done.

Jumping into a river to drown yourself is a. uncommon b. lack of a note

All speculation...similar to the mysterious death of Antonin Scalia. But...nobody seems to make a fuss about an actual good judge on the SC.

Who knows...perhaps the gal was ousted by one of her own?

BS on the Scalia death. None of the major conservative talking heads questioned it. I assume that nut case Alex Jones didnt think anything of it either.
Considering these are the same people who said the Clintons killed half of Washington insiders in the '90s and hated Obama more. That assertion is deflection at best to seek cover for the death of this woman or flat out tin foil hat territory which says it all.

I don't expect this administration or the local authorities to actually adsress the glaring suspicious death.

a. people do jump in rivers to drown themselves. look at the extra actions that are put into place to prevent this from happening in Seoul.

b. people often commit suicide and don't leave a note

No one is saying its never done (jumping in rivers) but really dude, its highly unlikely when her life is examined. No note or anything. Second, this is not Seoul. Korea and USA are vastly different culturally. Third, its a judge with a moslem name in the Trump era where we have had a big increase on moslems.

Lastly, You know this and wish to ignore it. You don't want it properly investigated for your own sordid biased reasons probably.

Now, here comes the deflective excuses, hope you make it at least mildly interesting.

The New York Times reported on the various stresses and tragedies she's suffered through as plausible reason for suicide, as well as the correction that she was not actually Muslim.

It could be hippos. 1000s of people die near or in rivers from hippos.

How quickly does your mind jump to suicide when you hear about a colleague's death? I know I'm entirely unsurprised when I find out a vet has gone that way. Honestly, I'm more surprised the stats aren't higher.

Well, that is a strong point. But all the lawyers who have offed themselves did so in a way that was apparently a suicide. This case seems murky.

Why murky? (And I'm not referring to the suicide being in a river.) If you examine her life, you'll note that there's family history of suicide. As to being Muslim, evidently she never converted, but she did continue to use her first husband's surname professionally. That's not all that uncommon, as there can be a lot of paperwork to go through to change one's professional or legal name; many people find it more convenient to leave the name unchanged.
