More scary analysis - if Trump really wants a nuclear attack, the military has to either go along with it or resign (unless they pull off a coup ...)

Training exercise or real preparations?

Radio Free Asia(RFA) says North Korean authorities have dispatched emergency standby orders to the leaders of the ruling Workers’ Party committees and civil defense units.

Friday's RFA report quotes a source in Yanggang Province as saying that the Central Military Commission of the party delivered the orders via e-mail.

The e-mail apparently arrived even before the North publicly threatened to retaliate against the U.S. “hundreds of thousands of times” over newly approved U.N. sanctions.

Another source in the North told RFA that the state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper carrying the North’s statement was distributed by military helicopters in Jagang Province on Tuesday. The source said it was the first time military helicopters have been used to deliver the newspaper except when the paper carried new year's messages by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Hopefully, this re-assessment of NK's current nuclear capabilities will cool things down at least a little ... https://www.yahoo.com/news/newsweek-exclusive-north-korean-missile-163255839.html

Looks like Kim chose to fire a missile over Japan as a safer alternative to shooting toward Guam ... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/aug/28/north-korea-fires-missile-japan

Trump's reported determination to cancel the free trade treaty with South Korea as soon as possible will probably make things worse in terms of a cooperative effort to deal with North Korea's nuclear threat and makes a "preventative" strike by the U.S. more likely - despite huge projected casualties in Seoul (since Trump seems to value campaign promises more than human lives and enjoys playing with fire despite the pleas of his top advisors...)

And to make matters even worse -

Appears U.S. patience is fast approaching its end:

Remember all those embittered expats back in the 2000s, who were posting stuff like "God, I can't wait for the US to pull its troops out of this country and let all those ungrateful Koreans fend for themselves!!"

Something tells me their fantasy is now further than ever from being realized.

Well, eventually they'll pull out (or be pulled out of the ground) one way or another. At this point we might as well put Dennis Rodman in charge of a peace mission - based on recreational/spectator sports and karaoke ... http://www.news.com.au/world/asia/dennis-rodman-wants-to-patch-things-up-between-donald-trump-and-kim-jongun/news-story/6d9208959ccfd58a8745a44c233cdad2

And yet, another Celebrity Apprentice contestant was not impressed ... http://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/850532/Piers-Morgan-fumes-Dennis-Rodman-laughs-North-Korea-Kim-Jong-Un-Good-Morning-Britain

Have a look at the topic of "American Militarism".
That might help balance the context. I don't think most people realize
here that North Korea is acting out of self-protection and they feel that
America is the one who is and always has been planning an invasion.
Unsurprisingly, America and their media machine have turned it around
and made it sound like America is being victimized and NK is being the aggressor.

Anyone remember what America did to the Marshall Islands and the people living there and their 67 nuclear tests?
