Hi all,

I'm about to move to Korea for the year to teach and I have 13 months worth of birth control to bring with me. I know you can get it in Korea, but I had to go through 5 different brands before I found one that agreed with me, so I'd like to play it safe.

My question is, are there any restrictions that anyone knows of on bringing in birth control? I have all of the official prescription receipts and each package is labelled.

Thanks in advance!

I can't speak specifically about birth control medication, but I've brought other medications in and out of Korea and never had a problem. Having the prescription is a good extra precaution. Once you land your bags come in on the carousel and if you have nothing to declare you walk right out.

Meds always go in your carry-on luggage. If you have your prescription, you'll have no problem when you leave your home country (when you're more apt to be checked), when (if) you have to transfer (high possibility of being screened and checked), and when you arrive (rarely checked, at least in my experience). A good idea is to have a prescription with the picture of the medication on it.
